His disciples that He was going to leave them. In other words, times and seasons would change for the disciples. Peter didn’t like that. He preferred the status quo and he told Jesus so in no uncertain terms. Look at Jesus’ response: “Get behind Me, Satan!” (v. 23). Peter had done a 180 within a matter of hours, and Jesus traced Peter’s statement to the realm of darkness.
